Such as it happened with Zack Snyder’s Justice League and the famous Release the Snyder Cut movement, which resulted on the release of the original version of the movie in 2021 on streaming, DC fans are hoping that at some point they’ll be able to finally see Ayer’s version of Suicide Squad, a movie that was modified by the studio before hinting theaters and ended up being heavily criticized by the media and the audience.

Suicide Squad’s Joker Returns in New Anime
The team of villains from the DC will soon return in the form of an animated series made in the best Japanese style. Suicide Squad ISEKAI is an original production created by Warner Bros. Animation Japan and WIT Studio, a company that’s been behind some other relevant titles such as Spy x Family or Attack on Titan.
The story will follow some members of the Suicide Squad including Harley Quinn, the Joker or Amanda Waller in an adventure that will take the villains to a different world or reality, since the word ISEKAI is used to describe a particular type of anime where already known characters are taken to a different universe.
For now, no details have been shared about the cast that will be lending their voices for Suicide Squad ISEKAI, but the aesthetic of the characters have the same style as the ones David Ayer presented on 2016’s Suicide Squad.
Joaquin Phoenix will also reprise his role as the Clown Prince of Crime of Gotham City in Joker: Folie à Deux, the sequel to the 2010 film that will continue the story of the villain while also introducing Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn.
