President Droupadi Murmu, speaking at the 165th convocation of the University of Madras on August 6, hailed the institution as a beacon of gender equality. She emphasized that investing in girls’ education fosters national progress. Commending medal recipients and graduates, she extended her congratulations to parents, guardians, and faculty. She lauded the University’s dedication to knowledge and academic excellence, applauding both current and former staff. Noting the region’s cultural significance, she described it as a cradle of civilization. Subsequently, on August 7, President Murmu is set to inaugurate JIPMER’s Linear Accelerator and a 50-bed AYUSH Hospital in Villianur. The following day, she will visit Auroville, inaugurate a city exhibition, and lead a conference on ‘Aspiring for Supermind in the City of Consciousness.’
