LJP (Ram Vilas) President Chirag Paswan commented on the restoration of Rahul Gandhi’s Lok Sabha membership and said that Rahul Gandhi losing his membership or its restoration was never a part of any political issue. Speaking further, he called the restoration simply a part of the legal procedure. Politics and political parties have no role to play here. “Rahul Gandhi losing his membership or its restoration was never a political issue. It was simply a part of the legal procedure…So, politics or political parties have no role to play here”, said Chirag Paswan. The Congress leader who was disqualified from the Lower House in March 2023 was reinstated as the Wayanad MP. The Gujarat High Court, had, in its order earlier, declined to stay his conviction in the criminal defamation case in which Rahul was sentenced to two years in jail by the Surat court over the ‘Modi surname’ remark.
