Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi arrive at Parliament after latter’s Parliament membership restoration

Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and MP Rahul Gandhi arrived at the Parliament on August 07. Lok Sabha Secretariat restored Rahul Gandhi’s Lok Sabha membership on August 07. In April 2019, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi made a controversial remark on Modi surname. A trial court in Surat had sentenced Rahul Gandhi for two years in the matter. The Congress leader had earlier challenged the trial court order at the Gujarat High Court, which upheld the ruling of the lower court. Apart from being convicted, the Congress leader was also handed a 2-year prison sentence in the case.
