This Thursday and Friday, things are going to get very crazy as there is a huge demand for Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 which has already sold around 83000 tickets for the opening day, while OMG 2 has sold about 15000 for its day 1, and Rajinikanth’s Jailer is releasing a day prior to both these films.
So the struggle to get the maximum number of screens has already begun and in this battle has entered Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani that has had a fabulous 2nd week. It would like to take the advantage of the extended weekend with Independence day falling on Tuesday. As per sources close to the trade, the distributors of Karan Johar’s film have begun calling cinema halls to get a higher percentage of screens for their film.
This move can get problematic as the distributors for OMG 2 and Rocky Aur Rani are the same: Viacom 18. And especially in the state of Maharashtra, Baipan Bhari Deva has also been holding strong and they also would want shows for their film.
This is one difficult but happy situation for the cinema owners as after a very long time so many big films are coming to the theaters and audiences are stepping out to watch the films.
