Karan Johar reacts to Jaya Bachchan saying ‘Keh Diya Na’ dialogue from ‘K3G’ in ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’

While Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is doing exceptionally well since the time it released, it’s only growing by the day in the hearts of the audiences. People are loving some moments from the film but the one which gets a lot of applause in theatres is the scene where Jaya Bachchansays Amitabh Bachchan’s line from ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’. She says, ‘Keh Diya Na…Bas Keh Diya’ and that moment has got a lot of love.But did you know that this particular line was not in the script?

KJo has spoken about this scene in an interview recently with BBC and he said that they didn’t have that dialogue originally in the script. During the shoot, Jaya just said, ‘bas keh diya’ and it suddenly striked to Karan that they could do something else with it. He then told Jaya to repeat Big B’s dialogue from ‘K3G’ and she was like, ‘what are you saying’. It was just decided on the spot and Karan thought that who better than Jaya Bachchan to mouth that line?
Fans also couldn’t help but notice some other K3G references and similarities. For example, a video has gone viral on the internet which drew similarities between how Shah Rukh Khan fell in love with Kajol in ‘K3G’. He sees Kajol dancing at a wedding, keeps starring at her and falls for her. That’s what happens in ‘RARKPK’. There’s a shot towards the end of ‘What Jhumka’ where Alia dances her heart out and Ranveer can’t stop staring at her. KJo has reacted to it and said that he realised only later that it looks similar. He thought that he’s repeated himself, but at that point, that’s how it was and he didn’t know any better. The filmmaker added that some clichés are meant to be repeated because not everything original works. One should be different just for the sake of being different, because otherwise, you just don’t land, added Karan.
