The opposition and the treasury benches were at daggers drawn on the first day of the debate on the no-trust motion moved by the Congress with the former asserting that they were forced to do so to break PM Narendra Modi’s “maun vrat” (vow of silence) on Manipur and the latter hitting back saying it was a no-trust vote against a government which has worked for the welfare of the people. The Day 2 of the debate on the no-confidence motion started with speculation on whether Rahul Gandhi will address the House today. While some reports claimed he will, others pointed to his engagements in Rajasthan today.
